Job Description
The Construction Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of construction activities for the turnkey installation of two fully operational 21,000-ton chiller plants. This role oversees field construction from mobilization through commissioning support, ensuring all work meets contract requirements, project schedules, applicable codes, safety standards, and performance objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities- Plan, manage, and oversee all on-site construction activities for mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, controls, and piping systems
- Execute the project in accordance with turnkey contract documents, approved drawings, specifications, and construction schedules
- Support development and maintenance of the detailed construction schedule in coordination with the Project Manager
- Enforce project-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans and ensure OSHA compliance
- Ensure all construction work meets project quality standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes (IBC, NEC, ASME, ASHRAE)
- Manage subcontractors and field crews, including daily coordination, performance monitoring, and issue resolution
- Support pre-functional testing, system startup, and commissioning activities
- Serve as the primary construction point of contact with Owner's representatives, inspectors, and AHJs
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 10–15 years of construction management experience, including large-scale mechanical or industrial facilities
- Demonstrated experience delivering central utility plants, chiller plants, or large HVAC infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of large-tonnage chiller systems, cooling towers, pumps, piping, and thermal systems
- Proven experience managing turnkey or EPC projects
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and regulatory compliance
- OSHA 30 certification (or equivalent) preferred
