Safety Management Systems is seeking an Entry-Level Field Safety (construction or industrial worker) whose primary focus is maintaining job-site hazards, assisting site safety managers, and ensuring all operations adhere to OSHA standards.
Lodging, Meals, and Mileage covered.
This position will operate 7 days a week at 12 hours a day.
Key Responsibilities:Site Preparation & Hazard Control: Installing guardrails, safety netting, temporary fencing, barricades, and caution tape.
Housekeeping: Clearing trip hazards, removing debris, disposing of hazardous waste, and keeping walkways clear.
Equipment & PPE Checks: Inspecting personal protective equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations, and fall-protection equipment to ensure compliance and functionality.
Traffic & Access Control: Acting as a flagger or spotter for heavy machinery, directing traffic near work zones, and managing access to restricted areas.
Assisting Safety Personnel: Helping site safety managers conduct routine site inspections, document hazards, or set up safety training areas.
Confined Space & Fire Watch: Monitoring atmospheric conditions or serving as a designated watch person during welding, hot work, or confined space entries.
Certifications:
Certifications:
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30: preferred
CPR / First Aid / AED Certification: preferred
Specialized Cards: Confined Space Entry, Flagger Certification, or Hazwoper (Hazardous Waste Operations) training depending on the sector.
Skills: Physical stamina, basic tool knowledge, attention to detail, and clear communication.
