Time Commitment: Full-Time Position (40-+ hours/week)
Compensation: $40,000 + Housing/Utilities & Benefits (Medical Insurance Stipend, Continuing Education, Professional Expense Account, & Retirement Stipend)
Ministry Supervisor: Senior Pastor
Position Summary
The Worship Leader is responsible for working with the senior pastor in planning, coordinating, and leading engaging worship services that align with the Global Methodist Church’s vision and theology. This individual will cultivate an atmosphere of authentic worship, shepherd volunteer musicians and vocalists, and work collaboratively with pastoral staff to create meaningful, Spirit-led services.
This position will also be responsible for working with the Director of Family Life and Missions and/or the Children’s Ministry Coordinator for additional ministry area opportunities. These ministry areas will be determined by the Senior Pastor, SPRC, and the position candidate based upon the gifts and grace of the candidate. The potential additional ministry areas could include one to two of the following:
Outreach Ministries, Missions Ministries, Children’s Ministry Assistant, Adult Discipleship, Pastoral Care.
Expectations
Plan and lead weekly worship services, including song selection, arrangements, and flow of serviceCollaborate with the Senior Pastor and ministry staff to align worship with sermon themes and church visionRecruit, train, and shepherd volunteer musicians, vocalists, and worship team membersLead and schedule regular rehearsals to ensure musical and spiritual excellenceOversee worship-related technology (sound, lighting, presentation software) and coordinate with tech team membersParticipate in church events, meetings, and additional services (e.g., holidays, special services)Lead and/or actively participate in additional assigned ministry areasRecruit, train, and shepherd volunteers in the additional assigned ministry areasQualifications
Strong personal faith and commitment to the mission and values of the churchProven experience leading worship in a church settingProficiency in singing and playing a lead instrument (e.g., guitar or piano)Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively with staff and volunteersFamiliarity with worship technology and software (e.g., Pro Presenter, Planning Center, sound systems)A heart for mentoring and developing others in their musical and spiritual giftsTheological Alignment or ability to work within and support the doctrines of the Global Methodist ChurchUnderstand and be able to live in and become a part of the community in a small townExperience
Preferred: 2+ years of worship leadership experience in a church or ministry contextSpiritual Expectations
Maintain a consistent personal devotional lifeModel Christ-like character both on and off the platformActively participate in the life of the church communityTo Apply
