The Victoria Television Group, a Morgan Murphy Media company, has an immediate opening for a Morning Meteorologist/MSJ at KAVU-TV, someone who can deliver an accurate forecast and connect with the Crossroads in a natural, relatable way.

You’ll deliver accurate, engaging forecasts on‑air, while also creating strong weather content for , our app, and our social platforms. You’ll collaborate with a close-knit newsroom in the Crossroads, just a short drive from Houston, Austin, and Corpus Christi.

In this role, you’ll own the weekday morning weather, tracking everything from daily heat and storms to severe weather and breaking coverage with calm, clear communication viewers can trust. You’ll also create smart, shareable weather content for , our app, and social, explaining not just what’s happening, but what it means for school drop‑offs, commutes, workdays, and weekend plans.

We’re looking for a strong communicator and self‑starter who thrives in a deadline‑driven environment, can juggle multiple priorities, and enjoys engaging with viewers on platforms like Facebook, X/Twitter, and Instagram. Basic Adobe Photoshop skills are a plus. A bachelor’s degree in meteorology, broadcast journalism, or a related field is preferred, and previous newsroom/on‑air experience is encouraged, along with familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Chartbeat, or Crowd Tangle.
