PRIMARY PURPOSE
As an integral part of the marching band staff, Percussion Technician helps in rehearsal planning and in implementing a percussion pedagogy program in conjunction with the Director of Percussion.
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leader in percussion performance and best practices
- Excellent skills in percussion pedagogy and performance
- Ability to work with students
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Extensive experience in the marching arts (DCI, WGI, college marching band, etc.)

Occasional lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds)
Environment:
Work outside and inside; exposure to extreme temperatures (hot, cold, and inclement weather), humidity, and prolonged sunlight; work on uneven or slippery surfaces; frequent exposure to noise. Occasional statewide and overnight travel
Mental Demands:
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
