Under the direction of the Office Manager, this position performs entry‑level customer service and clerical duties for Dinosaur Valley State Park. Responsibilities include answering phones, processing mail, data entry, revenue collection, license and permit sales, automated camper registration, handling visitor inquiries and complaints, maintaining office supplies, coordinating inventory, and supporting park operations.
Responsibilities- Provide customer service to park visitors and staff.
- Process revenue, licensing, and permits.
- Answer telephones, handle mail, and enter data into park systems.
- Assist with inventory of office supplies and visitor materials.
- Conduct routine cleaning of the park headquarters building.
- Respond to complaints, emergencies, and high‑volume visitor interactions.
- Work under close to moderate supervision and comply with all agency rules.
- High school diploma or GED.
- No experience required.
- Valid Texas state driver’s license obtained within 30 days of employment.
- At least one year of source experience in clerical, cash handling or customer service.
- Experience in accounting, typing, filing or data entry.
- Experience with automation equipment and standard office software.
- General office and administrative procedures.
- Basic mathematics and telephone etiquette.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Customer service skills, teamwork and multitasking.
- Cash handling and revenue accuracy.
- Work independently or as a team member with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate an online registration system and maintain flexibility with changing priorities.
- Manual lifting of up to 20 lb.
- High visitation public park with overnight camping.
- 40‑hour work week, flexible hours outside 8:00‑5:00 am, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays off.
- Adverse weather conditions: heat, rain, cold.
- Manual labor and occasional operation of a state vehicle.
- Travel at most 5% of the time, possible overnight stays.
- Non‑smoking environment.
