Job Overview
Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) – Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is a rapidly expanding multi‑specialty dental group. The RDA is a key contributor to an exceptional patient experience, providing direct patient care across all dental specialties including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. The role involves both clinical responsibilities and back‑office duties in a world‑class lobby environment.
ScheduleFlexible scheduling required; may include extended hours, evenings, and weekends as business demands.
Qualifications- Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE).
- Active CPR and AED training.
- Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred.
- Annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training.
- Experience with dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) is helpful.
- Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a plus.
- Mandatory bilingual (Spanish) proficiency.
- Provide end‑of‑week inventory reports to Lead Dental Assistant for replenishment.
- Prioritize patient and team safety, adhering to OSHA and Infection Control protocols.
- Maintain digital patient artifacts (health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre‑authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details).
- Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits.
- Monitor patient physical and emotional well‑being throughout visits.
- Prepare tray set‑ups per doctor preferences and planned procedures.
- Ensure exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked per standards before and after each patient interaction.
- Update patient charts with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
- Review patient chart and health history prior to doctor arrival and reconfirm chief concerns.
- Take diagnostic‑quality X‑rays and attach them to the patient chart.
- Assist with cleaning surfaces, sinks, floors, and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, and restrooms.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Prolonged sitting and standing as needed.
- Capable of lifting up to 15 lbs.
