Position Overview

This role is ideal for a self-motivated, compassionate dental professional who enjoys working independently and values building meaningful relationships with patients and caregivers.

Travel is an essential part of this position. Hygienists utilize their own vehicle and may occasionally stay overnight while serving facilities throughout their assigned region. Work schedules are established approximately 30–45 days in advance to provide consistency and planning flexibility.

Schedule
  • Full-time
  • Five (5) days per week
  • Schedule provided 30–45 days in advance
  • Overnight travel may be required
What You'll Do
  • Provide preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services to residents in long-term care facilities
  • Ensure patient comfort and create a positive care experience
  • Perform scaling, polishing, periodontal maintenance, and preventive treatments
  • Apply topical fluorides, antibacterial agents, and other preventive materials as appropriate
  • Take dental radiographs in accordance with clinical guidelines
  • Conduct oral health screenings and ongoing monitoring
  • Educate patients and caregivers on oral hygiene, oral health, and nutrition
  • Encourage and support patients in maintaining healthy oral care habits
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Utilize a variety of dental instruments and equipment safely and effectively
  • Follow infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols
  • Maintain treatment areas and equipment according to regulatory standards
  • Adhere to all professional, ethical, privacy, and confidentiality requirements
  • Report equipment issues and collaborate with team members to ensure uninterrupted patient care
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and clinical standards
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice
  • Strong understanding of dental hygiene principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, radiography, and infection control practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a mobile schedule
  • Computer proficiency and willingness to learn new technology
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
