We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Senior Residential Architectural Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for residential design and architecture, combined with a keen eye for spatial layouts, functionality, and appropriate construction practices. In this senior role, you will be responsible for independently creating full, comprehensive construction plan sets for single-family residences. You will leverage your deep technical expertise to translate design concepts into precise execution, ensuring all projects meet our high standards of quality and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Execute Full Documentation:
Develop detailed, production-ready construction plan sets, including floor plans, electrical plans, exterior elevations, roof plans, interior cabinet elevations, and site plans. - Manage Revisions:
Efficiently update and manage plan sets as needed with revisions, redlines, or as-built adjustments throughout the project lifecycle. - Team
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with the team to thoroughly understand building requirements, design needs, and budget constraints. - Cross-Functional Coordination:
Coordinate seamlessly with interior designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure that floor plans are drawn accurately and efficiently. - Client Consultation:
Work directly with clients and homeowners to customize and refine plans according to their functional desires and lifestyle goals.
- Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of proven, hands‑on experience in residential plan design and construction documentation. - Software Proficiency:
Advanced, fluent proficiency in both AutoCAD and Archicad is strictly required. - Supplemental Software:
Competency with Sketch Up is highly preferred. - Technical Knowledge:
Strong, comprehensive knowledge of residential construction practices, building methods, and local codes. - Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently interface with clients and consultants. - Work Style:
Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight while remaining a highly collaborative team player. - Design Sensibility:
Exceptionally detail-oriented with a strong, refined sense of architectural aesthetics. - Education:
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Architecture, Drafting, or a related field (preferred) - Portfolio: A robust portfolio showcasing previous residential floor plan designs and completed construction document sets is required for consideration.
