• Inpatient Call Coverage:

  • Provide call-only coverage, ensuring round-the-clock availability for obstetric emergencies and gynecological care.
  • Manage labor, delivery, and postpartum care in a Level 1 nursery setting.
  • Handle an average of 30 deliveries per month, with full support from anesthesia providers for pain relief during labor.

• Orientation and Training:

  • Attend a mandatory Epic system orientation the day before the assignment. This 4-5 hour training ensures proficiency with the EMR system, facilitating seamless integration into the clinical team.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the hospitals labor and delivery team, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Participate in both patient rounding and delivery suite care, with the support of the hospitals staff and resources.

• Call Schedule:

  • Provide call coverage on the specified dates, with potential for recurring assignments as needed.
  • Be available for emergency deliveries and obstetric procedures, ensuring the well-being of both mother and child.

• Patient Volume:

  • Handle a steady flow of deliveries, with approximately 30 per month in a facility equipped with 5 labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum suites.

• Requirements:

  • Licensure:
    Must hold a current Texas state medical license.
  • Board Certification:
    Board eligibility or certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.
  • Certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
  • Background: A clean malpractice background is essential for consideration.
