Position: Physician Assistant / Radiology / Texas / Locum Tenens / Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Location: Mont Belvieu

Provides primary and episodic care to patients ? independently and in collaboration with other medical professionals. Provide high-quality care services to patients of all ages, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Emphasize health promotion and/or disease prevention through patient education and coordination of care. Follows regulations and guidelines for writing prescriptions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non-urgent presentation.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescription medications and referrals to specialists when necessary.
  • Selects, orders, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
  • Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses included.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician as indicated.
  • Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to laboratory, radiology, EKG, etc. in collaboration with supervising physician as indicated.
  • Performs duties in accordance with the customary rules of ethics and conduct of the applicable State Board of Medicine and other such regulating bodies.
  • Educated patients and family members on health conditions, preventive care, and prescribed medications.
  • Maintains quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Exercises tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential patient issues and situations.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records, in accordance with HIPAA regulations and best practices.
  • Actively participate in community events and initiatives to promote health and wellness, and to build relationships with patients and community members.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
