About the Position
Join Our Team as a Locum Physician in General Medicine – Houston, TX

Are you a dedicated general medicine physician seeking flexible, impactful assignments? We are currently seeking a highly skilled Locum Physician to provide exceptional care and comprehensive assessments in Houston, TX. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to veteran health services while enjoying competitive compensation and flexible scheduling.

In this role, you will perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily through interview-based evaluations with some physical testing. No prescribing or treatment responsibilities are involved. The position offers the chance to work on a PRN basis, with the flexibility to choose half-day or full-day shifts to suit your schedule.

Required Skills:

Medical degree (MD or DO) with current state medical license in Texas

Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine specialties

Proven experience conducting Compensation & Pension exams or similar assessment work

Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing

Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Ability to work independently and manage examinations efficiently

Nice to Have

Skills:

Prior experience working with veterans or in government healthcare settings

Familiarity with medical documentation, report writing, and medical opinion preparation

Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards related to veteran assessments

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Medical degree from an accredited institution

Minimum of 2 years clinical experience with a focus on general medicine

Experience with compensation and pension evaluations is advantageous

Other Requirements:

Own office space in Houston, TX

Travel included in compensation package

Credentialing and onboarding will be quick and straightforward

Ability to start from March 6, 2024, and commit to ongoing assignments

This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $624.00, with clear, flat-rate compensation for half and full-day assessments.
