Locums Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity
A busy, academically affiliated Emergency Department in Kingwood, Texas is seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to join its experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a high-quality clinical environment that combines a diverse patient population, strong specialty support, and an active graduate medical education program.
Position Highlights- Practice in a collaborative, physician-led Emergency Department
- Opportunity to work alongside Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine residents
- Strong specialty support and academic environment
- Approximately 45,000 annual adult Emergency Department visits
- 29-bed Emergency Department
- Average productivity of 2.2 patients per hour
- Dedicated Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments
- Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Programs
- Robust Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs with expanding fellowship opportunities
- Dedicated Emergency Medicine faculty in Ultrasound, Simulation, Medical Education, and Toxicology
- Home to one of the busiest snakebite treatment services in the United States
- EMR:
Meditech
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a broad range of emergency medical conditions
- Perform emergency procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine practice
- Stabilize critically ill and injured patients
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations
- Collaborate with residents, specialists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care
- Accurately document patient encounters using Meditech
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program required
- Ultrasound Fellowship preferred
- Active Texas medical license or ability to obtain licensure
- Current DEA registration
- ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and BLS certifications, as required
