Summary:

Vighter is recruiting a Family Medicine Physician to serve at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at and around Fort Hood, TX. This role delivers patient-centered, evidence-based care while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and Vighter clinical policies. The physician functions as a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, supporting quality care delivery, clinical documentation, and continuity of care in a secure and highly regulated setting.

Vighter is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) which provides professional healthcare staffing services to Federal, State, and Local government clients. Principle Accountabilities:

  • Provide medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for adult patients.
  • Support continuity of care during intake, transfers, and release processes.
  • Participate in audits, peer reviews, morbidity/mortality reviews, and quality initiatives.
  • Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.
  • Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
  • Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Facilitates patient access to continuing medical care by appropriate specialty referrals, appointments, consultations, procedures to schedules and complete delivery of services and/or to other healthcare providers operating within the policies and regulations of the MTF access to care timelines.
  • Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.
  • Provide high-quality standards of care as mandated by the Joint Commission and appropriate DHA, CRDAMC, and local regulations and policies.
  • An unshakeable adherence to quality and continuous process improvement.
  • An apolitical, patient-centered focus that drives to enhanced care and patient satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
