This short-term acute care facility operates as a Level 2 Trauma Center with a 280-bed capacity. The medical center maintains established clinical infrastructure and protocols to support quality patient care delivery throughout each assigned coverage period. On-site resources are in place to facilitate coordinated care for the cardiothoracic surgery service line.

Southwestern Texas offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of regional attractions and recreational opportunities suited to varied interests. The state features outdoor activities such as kayaking, river tubing, and boat cruises, alongside cultural destinations including museums, caverns, and historic sites. Clinicians will find diverse options for leisure and exploration across Texas during the assignment period.

The cardiothoracic surgeon will provide 24-hour call coverage on a 1:1 call ratio across weekend shifts, Friday through Monday, beginning in November. Clinical responsibilities include CT Surgery coverage, support of a Level 2 trauma center, and backup coverage for Cath Lab procedures. This is an on-site inpatient assignment, and call coverage is a required component of the engagement. One hospital-based Nurse Practitioner is available to assist throughout each assigned coverage period.
