College Counselor and NCAA Coordinator
Christian Brothers High School, an all-boys, college-preparatory Catholic high school in Memphis, Tennessee, isseeking qualified applicants for the position of College Counselor and NCAA Coordinator. This full-time position begins July 1, 2026, for the 2026–27 school year.
The College Counselor and NCAA Coordinator supports students and families through the college search, application, and enrollment process while coordinating NCAA eligibility for prospective student-athletes. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in college admissions or school counseling who are passionate about working closely with students and families in a school-based setting.
Responsibilities- Guide students and parents through all phases of the college planning, application, and enrollment process.
- Provide individual and group advising and communicate college planning information using SCOIR and related platforms.
- Meet regularly with juniors and seniors (and parents as requested) to support post‑secondary decision‑making.
- Write and submit thoughtful, high‑quality letters of recommendation.
- Coordinate college representative visits and assist with college planning programs and events.
- Support course selection, student scheduling, standardized testing, and year‑end college outcomes reporting.
- Partner with coaches to support students pursuing collegiate athletics.
- Monitor NCAA Core Course completion and academic eligibility requirements.
- Track student academic progress to ensure NCAA compliance.
- Educate students and families on recruiting timelines and NCAA eligibility standards.
- Serve as the school’s liaison with the NCAA Eligibility Center, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field preferred. - 3–5 years of experience in college admissions, school counseling, or a related educational environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience evaluating or supporting college applications.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, faculty, coaches, and administrators.
- Experience with college counseling platforms (e.g., SCOIR) and NCAA eligibility processes.
