Job Description Summary
Creates and teaches library instruction sessions (in-person and online), participates in research assistance services to students, faculty, staff, and community members in-person or remotely (via phone, email, or other methods). Maintains the Libguides website. Communicates with database vendors and the IT department to resolve access issues to online resources. Has overall responsibility for the library's outreach to the Dual Credit program and oversight of the Interlibrary Loan program.

Required Education
Master's of Library Science from an ALA accredited program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Works closely with faculty and professional library staff to create research guides using Libguides to support library needs and college curriculum.
* Creates handouts and other teaching materials to support the college's curriculum:
* Video tutorials
* Scavenger hunts, etc. in paper and digital formats.
* Online Niche Academy lessons for faculty use
* Keep faculty and adjuncts apprised of library resources
* Reviews and collates usage statistics for Libguides and Niche Academy.
* Schedules and presents Library Instruction sessions as requested by faculty.
* Provides in-person and virtual research assistance to the library's users (students, faculty, adjuncts, staff, and community members) using appropriate information sources.
* Works closely with professional library staff to review, evaluate, and improve library processes for student access and success.
* Coordinates Dual Credit outreach with the Library Director, making regular email contact, doing on-site visits as needed and hosting events at WC libraries.
* Provides oversight responsibilities:
* Monthly Social Media "blasts" in concert with the Library Clerk
* Inventory and yearly shelf-reading timeline, and manage process in concert with the Library Clerk.
* Coordinates with professional library staff to develop and maintain a balanced library collection of print and digital resources (ebooks, databases, streaming services, etc.) that supports curriculum.
* Works closely with the Acquisitions Librarian on the systematic expenditure of funds budgeted for collection development using OCLC WMS.
* Ebook acquisitions:
Review faculty requests;
Create carts and purchase;
Create WMS order and invoice;
Communicate with faculty;
Update Library homepage with new titles
* Overdrive/Libby oversight
* Review faculty/staff/student requests
* Order Cost Per Circ titles
* Market collection to faculty/staff/students
* Coordinates with professional library staff to formulate and update collection development policies and procedures, and assists in the evaluation of goals and accomplishments of collection development.
* Manages electronic resources lifecycle processes
* ILS (Integrated Library System) - OCLC
* WMS Discovery tool - Search It All
* Databases
* Electronic journals
* E-books
* Activate/Deactivate subscriptions
* Metadata knowledge
* Technical liaison to vendors
* Keep Libguide A-Z list current
* Populate collections where required
* Pro Quest and EBSCO eBooks
* Swank
* Coordinates and performs access-related problem resolution:
Monitor broken links;
Monitor tech tickets with vendors
* ILS current features/upgrades (OCLC WMS):
As the vendor rolls out upgrades, evaluate usage for WC:
* Search It All home page; ILL screen;
Kiosk computer in the library
* Provide information and data used in the analysis and evaluation of electronic resources
* Promotes electronic resources to faculty and staff
* OER consulting with faculty
* Miscellaneous duties
* Assists ILL Library Clerk as needed.
* Assists at the Circulation Desk as needed.
* Participate in assigned committees
