Overview

We are looking for passionate educators to activate a child's desire to learn and equip them with tools for lifelong success. Join our Infant Room Team as an Assistant Closing Teacher at 380 W. Frontier Pkwy, Celina, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Design a developmentally appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
  • Develop an appropriate classroom management system.
  • Meeting and adapting to individual needs of the children.
  • Ensure that classroom equipment is in good repair.
  • Understand and implement The Goddard School® emergency procedures and participate in routine drills.
  • Promote healthy eating practices at lunch and snack times.
  • Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements.
  • Perform cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately and major cleaning/disinfection while children are not present.
  • Work with the Education Director to post a classroom schedule that meets the needs of the children and includes routine and learning opportunities.
  • Assist in advancing children’s physical and intellectual competence.
  • Create a multi‑cultural learning environment.
  • Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and individualize lesson plans.
  • Interact and engage with the children to support learning through play and exploration.
  • Encourage children to talk with each other and with the faculty and provide redirection when necessary.
  • Present age‑ and developmentally‑appropriate expectations for all children.
  • Create a variety of learning environments for books, literature, writing and technology.
  • Encourage creativity through art, music, dramatic play and blocks.
  • Provide a reasonable balance between teacher‑directed and child‑directed activities.
  • Provide opportunities for both active and quiet play while developmentally appropriate time lengths.
  • Integrate GSI resources (including Enrichment Programs) into lesson plans while adhering to brand standards.
  • Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.
  • Understand and adhere to The Goddard School of Celina’s behavior policy while fostering positive self‑esteem and social skills.
  • Plan and implement activities to enable children’s feeling of security.
  • Encourage empathetic and respectful feelings for others, as well as the environment, through positive modeling.
  • Respect and encourage cultural and ethnic diversity.
  • Establish positive and effective family relations.
  • Communicate, in a professional manner, with families and faculty and follow proper chain of command established at facility.
  • Encourage families to become an integral part of their children’s learning experiences.
  • Provide opportunities (e.g., conferences) in which families are made to feel a part of their children’s learning experiences.
  • Prepare a Daily Activity Report for each child that meets all requirements set by GSI standards.
  • Maintain a portfolio for each child.
  • Assess supplies and materials needed to implement activities.
  • Build teamwork and encourage/support other team members.
  • Develop lesson plans in conjunction with Education Director team and post lesson plans by appropriate deadline.
  • Manage classrooms according to GSI QA Standards.
  • Perform child observations and work with Education Director to document in their portfolios.
  • Willingness to be observed by Director team followed by regular meetings to discuss findings.
  • Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress) and report to Education team and parents.
  • Maintain workplace expectations and professionalism at all times.
  • Abide by ethical code of conduct at all times.
  • Promote GSI philosophy and educational objectives.
  • Pursue professional development/continuing education and participate in given opportunities.
  • Attend monthly faculty meetings, in‑service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities.
Qualifications

Qualifications must meet state standards and those set forth by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
