Description/Notes: Provide English Learner (EL) students with appropriate instruction and language experiences in accordance with the district’s Spanish & English one-way dual language model, which includes the core academic subject areas assigned to support students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas bilingual teaching certificate with related training and work experience in core academic subject assigned
• [One-Way Dual Language training provided by district after hire]
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• Demonstrated ability to instruct in both Spanish and English

• Understand the interrelated components of bilingual teaching/first & second language acquisition
• Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with student, parents, and colleagues in Spanish & English
• Ability to support students using a variety of technology applications and platforms.

Experience:
3 years of classroom teaching preferred

Salary Range: Starting Salary: $52,100
Bilingual Stipend $6,000
