Social Science Faculty Team:
The Social Science Division at Cisco College includes faculty from Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology. All members collaborate and communicate regularly to support student success and assist with course planning and preparation. Faculty in the Psychology Department report to the Social Science Division Chair.
- Design and deliver high-quality courses for all student cohorts across online, hybrid, and in‑person modalities to achieve course outcomes and ensure alignment with state, institutional, and division standards.
- Maintain an active instructional presence by initiating meaningful interaction with students in all course modalities, facilitating engagement, delivering direct instruction and clarification, and providing timely, substantive feedback directly and through the LMS and other approved instructional technologies.
- Respond to student inquiries in a timely and supportive manner, provide guidance that promotes persistence and course completion, and refer students needing additional support to the appropriate college resources.
- Maintain a minimum of five posted office hours per week and provide additional availability by appointment as appropriate to student needs.
- Submit syllabi, grades, and attendance accurately and on time; maintain all required course documentation.
- Participate in student learning assessment and institutional effectiveness to support a culture of continuously seeking improvement, including alignment with institutional goals.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth by staying current in discipline and pedagogy, and completing all elements of the Faculty Evaluation Plan, including setting goals to improve course design, delivery, and student learning.
- Assist with advising students and support registration, orientation, and career pathways as needed.
- Support the mission of the College through committee service and participation in faculty and division meetings and commencement activities.
