Location: Eastland

Job Summary:

The High School Spanish Teacher provides instruction in the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures, promoting students’ proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The teacher creates engaging, standards-based lessons aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and prepares students for real-world communication and cultural understanding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction aligned with TEKS
  • Develop students’ proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish
  • Incorporate cultural lessons to enhance global awareness and understanding
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
  • Manage classroom behavior using effective strategies
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development
  • Integrate technology to enhance language learning
  • Prepare students for advanced coursework (e.g., AP Spanish, dual credit, or college readiness)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required)
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with Spanish (Lote/World Languages) certification
  • Strong proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of TEKS and second language acquisition strategies
  • Effective classroom management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching Spanish at the high school level
  • ESL certification or bilingual education experience
  • Experience with AP Spanish, dual credit, or advanced language programs
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements:

  • Classroom setting on a high school campus
  • Regular interaction with students, staff, and parents
  • May require standing, walking, and light lifting
