Overview
Provides executive leadership for the district’s comprehensive instructional program, ensuring the effective design, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning. Oversees strategic planning, including the District Improvement Plan and long-range goals, while aligning campus and district initiatives to drive student achievement. Directs the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), ensures compliance with state and federal requirements, manages budgets and grant programs, and collaborates with district and community stakeholders to support a cohesive, high-performing educational system.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and provide leadership for the overall instructional program of the district. Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Curriculum and Instruction Department, including curriculum development and staff development.Instructional and Program ManagementDirect instructional and curriculum services to meet the needs of all students.Plan, implement, and evaluate instructional programs in collaboration with teachers and principals, including learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.Apply current research and student performance data to improve the content, sequence, and outcomes of the teaching-learning process.Work with appropriate staff to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents based on systematic review and analysis.Involve instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials that meet student learning needs.Ensure effective use of technology in the teaching-learning process.Plan and allocate time, resources, and materials necessary to support the accomplishment of educational goals.Ensure that district goals and objectives are developed using collaborative processes and problem solving techniques, as appropriate.Participate in district-level decision-making to establish and review goals, objectives, and major instructional programs.Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals and campus performance objectives, including academic excellence indicators.Obtain and use evaluative findings, including student achievement data, to examine the effectiveness of curriculum and instructional programs.Secure consultants, specialists, and other community resources to assist principals and instructional staff in attaining educational objectives.Provide effective staff development activities that incorporate the district mission, program evaluation outcomes, and input from teachers and other stakeholders.District Improvement Planning & Strategic LeadershipEstablishes, appoints, and facilitates the District Education Improvement Council (DEIC) in accordance with state requirements, ensuring membership reflects required stakeholder representation, including professional staff, parents, community members, and business representatives.Leads the DEIC in conducting a comprehensive needs assessment, analyzing student performance data, and developing, reviewing, and revising the District Improvement Plan (DIP) to address identified areas of need and align with state and federal accountability standards.Guides and supports campus principals in the formation and facilitation of Campus Site-Based Decision-Making (SBDM) committees to develop, implement, and monitor Campus Improvement Plans (CIPs) that are aligned with the District Improvement Plan and responsive to campus-level data.Develops, implements, and manages the district's long-range strategic plan, including establishing measurable goals, timelines, and performance indicators; monitoring progress; and communicating outcomes to the Board of Trustees and community stakeholders.Ensures alignment between the District Improvement Plan, campus improvement plans, and the strategic plan to create a coherent, district-wide framework for continuous improvement.Reports regularly to the Board of Trustees on the status of district and campus improvement initiatives and progress toward strategic plan goals.Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA)Provide district-level oversight and leadership for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the…
