Primary Purpose: The Multilingual Instructional Coach provides district wide instructional leadership to support elementary bilingual and ESL teachers in implementing high-quality instructional practices that accelerate academic achievement and linguistic development for Emergent Bilingual students. This role collaborates with the Multilingual Department, Curriculum Department, and campus instructional coaching teams, including elementary instructional coaches, to strengthen instructional systems, lesson design, language acquisition practices, and curriculum implementation aligned to district goals.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field required
Master's degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate required
Valid Texas Bilingual certificate required
Experience:
- At least five years of successful teaching experience in elementary bilingual, ESL, literacy, or related instructional settings
- Evidence of district/campus leadership
- Experience in development, preparation, and presentation of professional development preferred
- Experience coaching teachers in instructional practices that support Emergent Bilingual students preferred
- Knowledge of elementary curriculum, literacy development, instructional design, lesson planning, and assessment practices
- Strong knowledge of bilingual education, ESL instructional models, second language acquisition, sheltered instruction, and linguistic development practices
- Knowledge of ELPS, linguistic accommodations, and effective instructional supports for Emergent Bilingual students
- Strong understanding of elementary literacy development and foundational instructional practices for multilingual learners
- Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively coach adult learners and provide constructive feedback that supports instructional growth
- Ability to analyze student achievement and language development data to guide instructional decision-making
- Strong organizational and technology skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and coaching teams to support district initiatives
