Secondary Multi-Disciplinary Studies Teacher
The successful candidate will be an innovative and collaborative educator with the capacity to foster student success in a multitude of courses, both within the classroom and in mentoring relationships, with a demonstrated capacity to engage individuals across a spectrum of backgrounds, ages, levels of experience, and career aspirations. Applicants are expected to provide evidence of teaching excellence and demonstrated support of student success.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours or more in agricultural engineering, industrial mechanics/maintenance, or related discipline.
- Experience in the areas of industrial maintenance, automation, industrial motor control, and fluid power systems.
- Minimum of 3-5 years university-level teaching experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years teaching experience in public education.
- Professional experience in industry, with a strong grasp of agronomics.
- Proficient in creating and evaluating project-based assignments that blend multi-disciplinary theories with hands-on skill development.
- Well-versed in using communication technologies (e.g., video conferencing, digital platforms, etc.) to enhance both in-person and online learning experiences.
- A record of teaching excellence.
- Willingness to collaborate across traditional boundaries, within and across the campus and with partners in the public and private sectors.
- Willingness to implement a project-based learning approach in the classroom through intensive collaboration with other faculty members and industry partners.
- Values authentic learning experiences that intentionally interweave liberal arts, data analysis, and design principles within the context of problems and projects that build 21st-century professional skills.
• Teaching responsibilities may include dual credit instruction in the area of industrial maintenance.
• Teach courses in basic electrical and electronics, fluid power systems, industrial motor control, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and robotics as part of the Industrial Maintenance program.
• Maintaining a safe and well-equipped learning environment.
- Ability and willingness to teach core and/or elective courses (based on applicant's Texas teacher certification.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to improve teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress, behavior, and other relevant information.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and positive behavior.
- Evaluate student understanding through various methods, including formative and summative assessments, and by providing timely feedback.
- Design and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards, considering diverse learning styles, and incorporating technology.
