SummaryAdjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.
Duties & Responsibilities- Teach three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education (CBE) format supporting the CBE Orientation Courses.
- Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
- Facilitate courses by adhering to the standard course syllabus as provided by the Assistant Dean.
- Monitor undergraduate-level orientation courses for CBE programs and provide weekly status reports to advisors.
- Develop and maintain teaching materials (e.g., syllabi, course content, question libraries, etc.).
- Prepare and evaluate course assignments and examinations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Terminal degree in instructional design or closely related field with 18 hours in field/subject area OR Master’s degree in instructional design with terminal degree in closely related field. - Knowledge /
Skills:
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to:
Multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Work with minimal supervision. - Other Requirements:
Position will require work after business hours and on weekends.
- Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials.
- College or University teaching experience.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
- Prior relevant industry experience.
- Experience working with varied student populations.
- Online or hybrid teaching experience.
