7th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Job Description

Spearman Jr. High is in search of a 7th grade Social Studies teacher for the  school year. The position will pay an additional $3,000 for a Master degree. The district pays $466 per month towards applicant health insurance.

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in Social Studies and help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid Texas Teacher Certification

• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Develop and implement lesson plans and fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned, and present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Conduct assessment of student learning/achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
