Job Description

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for recruiting, selecting, and enrolling first‑year and transfer students for the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts  office meets enrollment goals across schools and programs.

Overview

Reporting to a Director, the Associate Director of Admissions, Selection is an experienced member of the undergraduate admissions team who recruits and selects students and fulfills enrollment objectives set by the University.

What You’ll Do
  • Portfolio oversight: manage complex projects including delegating tasks, managing staff and student workers, creating training materials, and analyzing data.
  • Collaboratively develop and implement each cycle’s application evaluation process.
  • Manage undergraduate first‑year and transfer application review.
  • Coordinate application cycle operations, calendars, and process improvements.
  • Develop and facilitate staff reader training.
  • Participate in application review and selection processes, including evaluating applications in alignment with training protocol and serving on selection committees, and chairing committees as needed.
  • Serve as an on‑campus point‑of‑contact for visitors, communicating with students, families, counselors, and the general public via in‑person conversations, virtual formats, email, and phone.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, including the Student Services Technology Team, on data and project‑based work.
  • Coordinate with external partners such as College Board, Scoir, Common Application, and Coalition for College to support portfolio and office‑wide initiatives.
  • Conduct virtual and in‑person information sessions and workshops for campus and off‑campus audiences.
  • As requested by the Dean and/or Director, create, facilitate, or contribute to office training initiatives for admissions officers and administrative staff.
  • Directly supervise 1‑4 professional staff members and serve as a member of the Management Team.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

While the office functions in a hybrid modality, the Associate Director can expect frequent campus presence.

Travel Requirements

This position involves travel throughout the year, which may include overnight stays. A valid U.S. driver’s license is required, along with willingness to drive to various locations using a rental vehicle. Candidates must have a driving record that meets the standards of rental car agencies.

What We’re Looking For Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in selective admissions, college counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience with application evaluation, including individual or committee‑based evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, preferably in a fast‑paced, timeline‑driven environment.
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency with CRM management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Comfort traveling independently and as part of a group.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior supervisory experience of either professional or student staff.
  • Experience leading and/or facilitating staff development initiatives.
  • Experience with highly selective application evaluation, including individual or committee‑based evaluation.
  • Experience with Technologies Slate.
  • Fluency in a second language.
Pay Range

Minimum $65,900.00;
Midpoint $82,300.00;
Maximum $98,800.00. Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
