Position:
Early Elementary Teacher (K-2) for the School Year.
Location:
Morgan Independent School District, Morgan, Texas.
Work year length: 10 months, starting August 3, 2026.
Job SummaryProvide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Education & Certification- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements.
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area/grade assigned.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and provide written evidence of preparation. Prepare lessons with accommodations for individual differences.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, equipment, and technology reflecting students’ learning styles and needs. Present subject matter following Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and regulations.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Work with special education teachers to modify curricula according to Individual Education Plans.
- Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods per district requirements.
- Assign work to instructional aides and volunteers and oversee completion.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
- Be a positive role model; support district mission.
- Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ development.
- Manage student behavior per Student Code of Conduct and the handbook.
- Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file required reports, records, and documents.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations, policies, and safety protocols.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Follow emergency procedures.
- Use alternative methods of performing duties as necessary.
