Location: River City Believers Academy – San Antonio, TX
Reports To: Principal or Head of School
Position Type: As-needed / On-call

Substitute Teachers at River City Believers Academy play a vital role in maintaining a consistent, nurturing, and Christ-centered learning environment in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Substitutes are responsible for implementing lesson plans, managing the classroom, and supporting students’ academic and spiritual growth.

This position is ideal for individuals who are flexible, dependable, and passionate about Christian education.

• Provide classroom instruction as outlined in teacher lesson plans.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly learning environment.
• Manage classroom behavior with grace, consistency, and authority.
• Communicate with administration regarding student concerns or deviations from the plan.
• Uphold the spiritual and academic mission of RCBA in all interactions.
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess, as assigned.
• Leave a brief summary of the day’s activities for the returning teacher.

• A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and classroom routines effectively.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• A servant-hearted attitude and a love for working with students.
• Willingness to be flexible and available on short notice.

• Half Day: $50
• Full Day: $75
• Long Term: $15/hour
