Job Description
PrimaryPurpose:
Provides coaching and support to classroom teachers to ensure the continuous development of instructional skills among assigned teachers. Evaluate the performance of assigned classroom teachers as it relates to improved student outcomes.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
Master’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Experience with the school improvement process
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional delivery to improve teaching effectiveness
- Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
- Extensive knowledge of and successful experience with the implementation of the TEKS Resource Curriculum System
- Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
3 years of effective classroom teaching experience
MajorResponsibilities and Duties:
Staff Development
- Work collaboratively with assigned classroom teachers to establish realistic and measurable objectives related to both the teacher’s individual professional development and student learning.
- Support the continuous professional growth and improvement of teacher instructional skills through coaching and collaborative problem-solving.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation. Demonstrate effective teaching strategies with all student groups.
- Evaluate teacher effectiveness in accordance with established district programs.
- Plan and provide appropriate staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff.
- Work with teachers to analyze and interpret student data and use findings to develop and apply instructional strategies.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of effective research-based instructional strategies that promote high levels of student engagement.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of data analysis strategies using a variety of assessment tools.
- Provide support in analyzing student assessment data.
- Provide effective instructional adjustments to teachers based on evaluative findings (including student achievement data).
- Analyze assessment results, standardized test results, and other data points in order to target interventions that will ensure the academic success of all students.
- Engage teachers in professional dialogues about their teaching practices.
- Assist teachers in creating materials that are in alignment with the TEKS Resource Curriculum.
- Coordinate in advance with the campus principal and superintendent for the purchase of instructional materials/training to meet identified deficiencies.
- Provide assistance in researching instructional and/or curriculum issues.
- Assist with the development of district curriculum, instruction, and assessments.
- Maintain a resource library of publications, supplementary materials, and supplies.
- Secure consultants, specialists and other resources to assist staff in attaining adopted goals.
- Work with teachers to develop effective lesson plans based on the TEKS Resource Curriculum Management System and all available instructional resources/tools/programs.
- Work with teachers to effectively implement the TEKS Resource Curriculum Management System developed by the TCMPC.
- Work with teachers to improve the quality of Tier I instructional delivery, to include effective classroom management strategies.
- Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in area assigned.
- Work positively toward meeting the identified District Vision, Mission, Goals and Student Performance Targets.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support to teachers.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
