Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED, 48 college credit hours or Paraprofessional Certificate to meet ESSA requirements. Valid Texas Educational Aide certificate.

Note:

The COCISD Human Resources Dept. can work with you to obtain the Paraprofessional and Educational Aide certificates.

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

Ability to assist students in reading and facilitate an online reading program Ability to work well with children Ability to communicate effectively.

Experience:

Some experience working with children. Level III - requires 2 years as a level I/II.

Job Description

Instructional Support

1. Work with individual students or small groups.

2. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.

3. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.

4. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.

Student Management

5. Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and duty.

Other

6. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.

7. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.
