Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher & FCCLA Sponsor

Guthrie Common School District, a small, close-knit rural district serving students in grades PK-12, is seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team as a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher and FCCLA Sponsor for the  school year. This full-time position offers the opportunity to teach engaging FCS courses while leading our active Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter.

The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop essential life skills in areas such as nutrition, child development, personal finance, interior design, fashion, and family relationships, while fostering leadership through FCCLA activities.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (required).
• Valid Texas teaching certificate in Family and Consumer Sciences (e.g., Family and Consumer Sciences Composite Grades 6-12, Hospitality/Nutrition/Food Sciences, or Human Development and Family Studies) or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Experience teaching FCS courses and/or advising FCCLA (preferred but not required).
• Strong classroom management skills and commitment to student success.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small school environment.
• Passion for student leadership development and extracurricular involvement.
• Meet all requirements under Texas Education Agency (TEA) or DOI guidelines for certification and employment.

• 10-month teacher contract
• $2,000 FCS Stipend
• 4 day school week in the spring semester
• Teacher Incentive Allotment eligible position
• Low rent teacher housing available ($425)
