7th Grade ELAR Job Description

Spearman Jr. High is seeking a 7th grade ELAR teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. The position pays an additional $3,000 for a Master’s degree, and the district pays $466 per month toward the teacher’s health insurance.

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in English Language Arts and help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth.

• Education/Certification
  :
  Bachelor's degree;
  Valid Texas Teacher Certification
• Special Knowledge/Skills
  :
  Knowledge of curriculum and instruction;
  Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior;
  Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

• Develop and implement lesson plans and fulfill the requirements of the district’s curriculum program.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students and present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies and administrative regulations.
• Conduct assessment of student learning and achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
