Instructional Coach
Provide at-risk and other struggling students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practice. The instructional coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding about research-based effective instruction for teachers.
QualificationsMaster's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction or Educational Leadership preferred
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge and experience in instructional strategies and assessment driven instruction
Ability to design and deliver quality professional development for teachers
Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional StrategiesFollow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Direct the work of assigned instructional aide(s).

Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
