Urban Planning Lecturer

L'École d'urbanisme de Paris is the leading French institution in the field of urban planning and development. It hosts a teaching team of around forty full-time faculty members and a dozen associated professionals, serving a student body of approximately 300. At the heart of its mission is the training of professionals in urban planning aimed at transforming and adapting humanized spaces in response to social, urban, and environmental disorders arising from global climate and ecological crises.

In this context, it is seeking an associate professor with significant professional experience in housing and real estate, gained in studies offices, local authorities, planning bodies, or within social housing organizations, promoters, or private housing improvement advisory bodies. This experience should have enabled the development of an analysis of housing policies (local housing programs, urban renovation policy, private housing improvement, etc.),

the functioning of local housing markets, and the systems of actors. Sensitivity and knowledge of the challenges related to the ecological transition (energy renovation, adaptation to climate change of the urban fabric, mobilization of the existing park, etc.) are also expected.

The recruited person will carry out a teaching mission (96 HETD) focused on the workshop (M1 and M2) and methodological and practical teachings to grasp the technical and professional challenges of housing production and rehabilitation in an ecological transition context. Teachings will be conducted, apart from M1, in the M2 pathway in alternating "Housing and Urban Environments" and the M2 continuing education pathway "Master of Works for an Urban Transition Urbanism."

In addition to this teaching mission, pedagogical and administrative support is expected for at least 400 hours.

  • participation in housing and real estate courses in M1
• Complementary missions (400 h)
  • supervision of theses (M2)
  • supervision of alternates and students in continuing education
  • placement of alternates (M2)
  • development of partnerships in relation to alternation and continuing education (M2) and the setting up of professional workshops
  • participation in the steering committees of alternating training (M2)
  • participations in the admissions sessions of students
  • participations in pedagogical meetings (pedagogical committee and those related to the concerned pathways)
  • participation in the animation of the network of alumni of the EUP

• The position is attached to the University of Paris-Est Créteil, the supervisory body of the EUP.
• It is necessary to be able to demonstrate, for at least three years, a main professional activity, other than teaching, and professional experience directly related to the specialty taught.
• The doctorate is not required.
• The recruitment is made for a duration of 3 years renewable as of September 1, 2026.
• Remuneration according to the rules of decree no.  of May 10, 2007, and the order of May 10, 2007. The index is proposed by the administrative council of the University, the remuneration being fixed during the recruitment by reference to the gross index 253.
• It is possible to perform additional hours under the conditions of decree no. 83-1175 of December 23, 1983.
