High School General Agriculture Teacher

Job Title

Duty Days: 217 days per school year

Instruction & Curriculum

Deliver TEKS-aligned instruction in Agriculture Mechanics and other Agriculture courses, including but not limited to:

• Agricultural Structures Design & Fabrication
• Agricultural Equipment Design & Fabrication
• Agricultural Power Systems? Welding I & II (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW as appropriate)
• Other Agriculture Classes, as assigned

• Prepare students for industry-based certifications, including:
• AWS Certified Welder performance qualification
• FFA & Student Leadership
• Serve as an advisor to the local FFA chapter.
• Support student participation in:
• Career Development Events
• Welding competitions
• Livestock show project construction
• Leadership Development Events
• Supervise student project construction and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources OR ability to obtain certification.

Demonstrated experience in agricultural mechanics and welding.

Knowledge of American Welding Society standards and welding codes.

Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and shop safety practices.

Ability to manage a laboratory-based instructional setting.
