Primary PurposeDirect and manage instructional program and supervise operations and personnel at campus level. Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service. Oversee compliance with district policies, success of instructional programs, and operation of all campus activities.
Qualifications Education/Certification- Master’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
- Valid Texas Standard Principal or Middle Management certification
- Current certification in Texas Teachers Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)
- Exemplifies instructional leadership, effective communication, personal integrity, and collaborative leadership style
- Demonstrates ability to interpret data and address needs of school & community
- Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction; ability to evaluate an instructional program and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to manage budget and personnel and coordinate campus functions
- Ability to implement policies and procedures
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum of three years experience as a classroom teacher
- Minimum of two years experience in instructional leadership roles preferred
- Minimum of three years experience in an administrative role; assistant principal experience strongly preferred
- Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure program activities align with outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions
- Work with district and campus staff to review planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of curriculum and instruction
- Promote a positive, caring learning climate
- Provide instructional resources and materials to support teachers
- Foster collegiality and team building; encourage active decision-making
- Ensure two-way communication with Superintendent, staff, students, parents, and community
- Communicate expectations for high performance; recognize excellence
- Facilitate effective conflict resolution; assume responsibility for overall organization
- Direct and supervise all campus programs, staff, and facilities
- Model exemplary leadership for educational technology integration
- Build common vision for improvement; direct planning and program implementation
- Identify, analyze, and apply research and data for improvement
- Develop and set annual improvement objectives using the campus plan process
- Maintain records to show progress on performance objectives
- Apply Texas Accountability System knowledge; ensure reporting accuracy and timeliness
- Interview, select, and orient new staff
- Define performance expectations
- Observe performance, record observations, conduct evaluation conferences
- Make recommendations for personnel actions (placement, transfer, retention, promotion, dismissal)
- Support professional growth and development goals
- Comply with district, UIL, state, and federal regulations
- Develop campus budgets based on needs and enrollment; maintain fiscal control
- Oversee records collection and maintenance
- Manage facility use; supervise maintenance for safe campus
- Manage extracurricular activities and related funds
- Coordinate campus programs and activities
- Develop student management system promoting positive behavior and climate
- Enforce school rules uniformly; ensure discipline aligns with codes
- Conduct or direct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, teachers
