Adjunct Professor - Automotive Technology; Bowie

Position Overview

This adjunct faculty position in Automotive Technology provides instruction at the North Central Texas College Bowie campus. The role supports the College’s mission by delivering rigorous coursework, offering academic advising, and engaging in departmental service to promote student success.

• Teach courses with rigor and develop appropriate instructional methods.
• Prepare and maintain syllabi, grade records, and attendance.
• Conduct office hours and provide timely feedback on assignments.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committee service, and the Peer Classroom Observation Program.
• Assist in student learning outcomes and program objectives, including advising on scheduling, degree planning, and career guidance.
• Maintain records and submit required reports to the Division Chair and Registrar on time.
• Promote a professional learning environment in lecture and lab settings.

• Education: Associate Degree in Automotive Technology or related discipline and three years’ work experience in the area of instruction. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Experience: Three years in automotive mechanics with mastery of ASE content; five or more years of related work experience.
• Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Exhibition of respect, professionalism, and collegiality.
  • Ability to create an effective learning environment in lecture and lab.
  • Knowledge of online delivery methods, principles, and techniques (preferred).
  • Experience in online curriculum development and teaching (preferred).

• Pay Rate: $680 per load unit.
• Subject to criminal background check.
• Required to reside in Texas or Oklahoma.
