Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary PE Teacher/Coach to join our team. This full-time position involves fostering a positive and engaging environment where students can develop physical skills, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development and physical education principles, along with the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical fitness, motor skills, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Plan and conduct engaging and age-appropriate physical activities, games, and sports that encourage participation and enjoyment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in physical skills and fitness levels, providing feedback and support to help students achieve their goals.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate physical education concepts into the broader curriculum and support overall student well‑being.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular sports activities, events, and competitions, encouraging student involvement and teamwork.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and upcoming events.
  • Stay current with best practices in physical education and child development through professional development opportunities and continuing education.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and accessible for all students.
  • Foster a positive relationship with students, encouraging them to develop confidence and a love for physical activity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification for elementary education with a specialization in physical education (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Experience working with elementary‑aged children in a physical education or coaching capacity is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physical education principles, child development, and age‑appropriate physical activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create an engaging and motivating classroom environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the classroom and school community.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • A passion for health, fitness, and the development of young athletes.
