Callisburg Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts Teacher for the 2026‑27 school year. Callisburg is a small 3A rural district located just East of Gainesville in the heart of Texoma. The culture of Callisburg Middle School supports teacher growth, retention, and accountability.
The ideal candidate has a demonstrated history of student success on STAAR Reading.
Qualifications and Requirements- Education:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. - Certification: A valid Texas Teacher Certificate with the required English Language Arts/Reading endorsements.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Deliver high-quality, research-based English Language Arts Reading instruction to students.
- Develop, implement, and utilize daily lesson plans, student materials, and assessments to build foundational knowledge and literacy skills in students.
- Teach reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and literature, tailoring methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students per IEP guidelines.
- Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods per district requirements.
- Administer formal and informal assessments, quizzes, and projects to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Analyze student performance data to inform instruction and adjust teaching strategies for all learners, including students with disabilities and emergent bilinguals.
- Provide individual, small-group, or remedial instruction to support struggling learners.
- Communicate student progress and curriculum goals to parents and collaborate to support at‑home learning.
- Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.
- Create a safe, organized, and positive learning environment for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and Handbook.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
- Meet with parents, staff, and administrators to discuss student performance.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job‑related skills.
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
