university transfer coach

responsible for academic and university transfer advising for grayson college students who plan to transfer to a university.

  • develop and deliver a highly supportive transfer program to guide students through the selection of and application to a range of universities.
  • hold regular office hours to advise students on an individual basis.
  • plan and hold transfer events, collect data on transfer students, and communicate among internal and external stakeholders.

salary range: $49,281.02 to $73,921.54 per year.

essential functions & responsibilities
  • advises non-degree seeking students. Assist all students in developing transfer plans by holding individual advising sessions and general office hours to support students through the transfer process and help them succeed academically.
  • promote and facilitate working relationships with transfer institutions and universities to maximize opportunities for student transfers. Assist with developing articulation agreements and organize/maintain current articulation agreements.
  • develop a highly supportive transfer program to guide students through the selection of and application to a range of colleges and universities. Build resource materials with information that promotes effective and efficient transfer for students to other institutions. Maintain transfer website, bulletin boards, transfer 101, and other information regarding transfer opportunities.
  • organize, promote, and conduct transfer events, such as university transfer day, transfer workshops and seminars, and university partner visits. Market transfer opportunities for prospective and current students on campus and in the community.
  • interact with the office of institutional effectiveness on tracking and evaluating the successful transfer of grayson college students after graduation. Evaluate reverse transfer transcripts to award gc degrees.
  • stay current with transfer procedures and possibilities within the u.s. Higher education system, including texas core.
  • support the advising office as necessary during peak times of advising and enrollment.
  • performs other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

  • knowledge and skills
    • experience: minimum of two years to five years of similar or related experience. Four years of similar or related experience is preferred.
    • education: a bachelor's degree is required. A master's degree is preferred.
    • interpersonal skills: courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
