Adjunct Instructor (Mathematics)

Prairie View A&M University invites applications for a non‑tenure track Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Mathematics within the Brailsford College of Arts & Sciences. The successful applicant will primarily teach undergraduate courses in mathematics and statistics for both majors and non‑majors, as assigned. The teaching load is up to six credit hours per semester, based on availability; duties may also include administration and/or service.

This position is available for the Fall
2026 semester and may continue on an as‑needed basis.

• Teach mathematics and statistics courses (in‑class, hybrid, and/or internet (synchronous and asynchronous) as assigned.
• Tutor, grade, keep records, post grades (mid‑term and final), submit attendance reporting, keep office hours, submit departmental end‑of‑semester clearance items as required, and comply with rules and policies of the department, college, university, and the Texas A&M University System.
• Perform services to the department, college, university, and the profession.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours (SCH) of mathematics or statistics.
• No prior teaching experience required.

• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others, interpersonal and communication skills, planning and organization skills.

• Doctoral degree in statistics or mathematics with graduate courses in statistics.
• To teach online, a candidate must be certified and the university does recognize Quality Matters certifications achieved at other institutions.
• Equivalent of three years full‑time teaching experience in university‑level courses in mathematics and/or statistics.
• Evidence of successful and effective teaching at the undergraduate level.
