Location: Dalhart

Dalhart High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to engage with mathematical concepts and develop critical thinking skills. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting students in achieving their academic goals. The Math Teacher will collaborate with colleagues, participate in professional development, and contribute to the overall success of the school community.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Teach a variety of math courses, including but not limited to Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus, to students in grades 9-12.
  • Assess student progress through regular assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for math.
  • Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic performance and behavioral issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Support and mentor students in their academic and personal development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification in Mathematics for grades 9-12.
  • Previous teaching experience in a high school setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and effective teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Proficient in using educational technology and software.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
