Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a District ESL Coordinator. This full-time position is located at the Administration Office and is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the English as a Second Language (ESL) programs across the district. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering an inclusive learning environment and a commitment to supporting English language learners in achieving their academic goals.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and evaluate district-wide ESL programs and initiatives to meet the diverse needs of English language learners.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to create and maintain effective ESL instructional practices.
- Provide professional development and training for educators on best practices in ESL instruction and culturally responsive teaching.
- Monitor and assess the progress of ESL students, using data to inform instruction and support interventions as needed.
- Serve as a resource for families of English language learners, providing guidance and support to facilitate their engagement in the educational process.
- Advocate for the needs of English language learners at the district level, ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities.
- Stay informed about current research, trends, and policies in ESL education and share relevant information with stakeholders.
- Coordinate the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of ESL staff, ensuring a high‑quality team dedicated to student success.
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to support ESL initiatives and foster partnerships that benefit English language learners.
10 years’ experience in instructional leadership roles
Requirements- Valid teaching certification with an ESL endorsement or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with English language learners in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of ESL instructional methodologies, including differentiated instruction and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the use of data to drive instructional decisions.
- Commitment to promoting equity and inclusion within the educational environment.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding ESL education and English language learners.
