PositionThe primary focus of a Snapology Instructor is to teach Snapology programs and promote creativity, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 3‑14; not all instructors are required to teach every age group. This role requires internal collaboration, communication with Snapology leadership, and representation of the organization to parents and children with a high degree of professionalism.
Role& Responsibilities
- Lead groups of up to 16 students through curriculum‑guided activities
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing classroom rules and procedures
- Maintain discipline in accordance with Snapology’s rules and disciplinary systems
- Encourage and monitor individual student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos, or participating in face‑to‑face training sessions
- Encourage students and parents to enroll in future Snapology programs
- Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings, as required
- Criminal and child clearances must be current
- Two or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
- Education degree or teaching experience recommended; teachers pursuing a degree in education are also considered
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Proven ability to report to work regularly and punctually
- Weekday after‑school and/or evening classes
- Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
- Summer camps
- Special events, holidays, and break workshops
This is a part‑time position. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Snapology instructors typically work between 6 and 35 hours per week. Compensation is $18.00 – $25.00 per hour.
Our program structure is flexible, allowing instructors to adapt to the needs of each group from pre‑K through middle school while allowing children to progress at their own pace. Training and a complete curriculum are provided.
