Algebra II​/Geometry Math Teacher

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Algebra II/Geometry Math Teacher role located in Lucas, TX. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging Algebra II and Geometry lessons aligned with district curriculum and state standards, using a variety of instructional strategies and educational technologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing assessments, monitoring student progress, providing timely feedback, and differentiating instruction to support diverse learning needs.

The teacher will collaborate with colleagues and families, participate in professional development, maintain accurate records, and contribute to campus initiatives that support Lovejoy ISD’s Graduate Profile and student-centered values.

Qualifications

• Strong content knowledge in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, with demonstrated ability to teach Algebra II and Geometry effectively.
• Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development, including aligning instruction with state standards and district expectations.
• Ability to integrate instructional technology and STEM-focused practices into math lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and colleagues, including participation in team meetings and campus initiatives.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth, data-informed instruction, and alignment with Lovejoy ISD’s “Kids Come First” philosophy and Graduate Profile.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field; advanced degree is beneficial.
