We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Behavior Support Paraprofessional to provide behavioral, academic, and social-emotional support to students receiving special education services. The ideal candidate is patient, collaborative, and committed to helping students achieve success in the classroom and beyond.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities or behavioral challenges.
• Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and special education staff in implementing instructional and behavioral programs.
• Support students in achieving goals outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Provide one-on-one and small-group behavioral support in classroom and school settings.
• Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and reinforcement techniques.
• Assist with behavior monitoring, data collection, and documentation of student progress.
• Support students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other school-related functions.
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success.
• Participate in required training and professional development activities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to assist students with mobility and daily activities as needed.
• Ability to respond appropriately during behavioral crises and emergency situations.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required throughout the school day.

Education/Certification

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
• Must have met one of the following requirements:
• Completed a formal academic assessment;
• Earned an associate's degree; or
• Completed two years of study at an institution of higher learning.*
