English Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at Dalhart High School. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for literature and language while fostering critical thinking and effective communication skills. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum requirements.
• Teach a variety of English subjects, including literature, composition, grammar, and creative writing, to diverse student populations.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback and support for improvement.
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning experiences.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to contribute to the school community.
• Foster a love for reading and writing by promoting literature and organizing related extracurricular activities, such as book clubs or writing contests.
• Support students in developing their critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions and written assignments.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance data.

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification or license in English for secondary education.
• Proven experience teaching English at the high school level is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and best teaching practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse learning styles and needs.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction.
