Substitute Teacher

Substitute teacher pay varies based on experience and certification. Non-degreed substitutes are paid $85, while those with a bachelor's degree are paid $95. Certified substitutes receive $110. Long-term non-degreed substitutes are paid $95, long-term degreed substitutes are paid $110, and long-term certified substitutes are paid $135. Substitutes working on Fridays receive an additional $10. A long-term substitute is defined as someone substituting for the same teacher for more than ten consecutive days in the same assignment.

Long-term positions begin on the eleventh day, and the substitute shall be paid the appropriate long-term rate. A registered nurse (RN) substituting for a school nurse is paid $105 per day. Substitutes are required to pick up two jobs per semester to remain active and must sign a Letter of Reasonable Assurance (LORA) each year to stay active.
