Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team at Childress High School as a Teacher and Coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social studies education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves teaching various subjects and engaging students in critical thinking. Additionally, the candidate will coach student-athletes, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national standards.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices in teaching.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and community events to promote the school’s mission and values.
- Coach a designated sport, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to student-athletes.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal development.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding academic progress and athletic performance.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Stay current with educational trends and best practices in both social studies education and coaching.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for the state of Texas.
- Previous experience teaching at the high school level is preferred.
- Experience in coaching high school athletics, with a proven track record of developing student-athletes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and stay informed about educational best practices.
